Wimauma, Florida – One of the fastest growing areas in Hillsborough County
Wimauma was founded by C.H. Davis in 1902 who came up with the name by using the first few letter of his daughters Willie, Maude and Mary which aptly forms the name Wimauma. The area is growing exponentially, between 2000 and 2010 population increased by 50.1% according to U.S. Census Data. The increase is being complemented by state of the art master planned communities like, Hidden Creek, and Valencia Lakes. These communities are being complimented by great public schools like Reddick Elementary School, Shields Middle School and Lennard High School educating the children in the area. Another aspect that makes Wimauma so popular is proximity; it’s less than 30 minutes from Tampa, Brandon, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Sarasota.
